The Challenge
As the resort’s primary vehicle for marketing, the existing Web site needed a much improved visitor experience and a completely new design. Sky Valley Resorts wanted the Web site to compel its visitors to choose the resort as the destination for their next vacation.
After years of ongoing in-house Web site development, the Web site was left with broken images, malfunctioning contact forms and was absent in the search engines. As a result, Sky Valley Resorts received regular emails from visitors having trouble with the Web site.
The new Web site had to meet several key criteria for success:
- Attractive design with imagery showcasing the resort
- Site’s functionality and features updated
- Tools to manage the content of the Web site
- Ability to accurately receive and track brochure requests
- Visibility in the search engines
In order to accomplish these goals, Sky Valley Resorts decided to seek outside help. That’s when Sky Valley Resorts decided to partner with ICTNS.
The Solution
ICTNS’ development team identified three core areas that needed to be improved on the new site: ease of use, content management and lead tracking.
ICTNS focused on making www.skyvalleyresort.com fun and easier to use by blending an intuitive interface with a creative, animated design. The result is a user-friendly Web site that accurately portrays the resort’s feel with unique imaging delivering the sense of relaxation.
ICTNS integrated SiteChalk™ 2007 content management system (CMS) into the Web site giving Sky Valley Resorts the ability to quickly and easily add the new content to the design as well as maintain the entire site in the future.
Finally, ICTNS developed an online contact form that would instantly route the brochure requests received from the Web site to the correct resort personnel.
The Results
The finished product is a Web site that is easy for users to navigate, maintained by Sky Valley Resorts and generating business via online brochure requests.
Sky Valley Resorts’ marketing consultant called the project an immediate success. Site visitors agree and the resort has witnessed an average of over 9,000 unique visitors per month.
Prior to the new Web site, Sky Valley Resorts was only receiving two brochure requests per week generated online, but now that number has jumped to six a day.
The Web site now appears on the first page of search engines for every keyword phrase the Web site was optimized for.
Shortly after its launch in August of 2006, Sky Valley Resorts received the DesignFirms Web award, citing the highest points earned in the Web site’s rating for ease of use and effectiveness.
As a result of ICTNS’ streamlined and successful Web development process, Sky Valley Resorts is working with ICTNS for additional services and Web applications.
